West Walk & Food Court West |
A right turn at the A.T.M. and a few stairs up will take us through the West Walk alongside which is Food Court, West. |
Let’s get a few drinks while we’re here. We’re going to be walking along the South Walk next so when we’ve received our drinks we can see if one of those tables near the bottom of the food court is still free. We’ll sit there for awhile, quench our thirst, and take the air. |
Food Court, West earned the highest average profit per stall in the park and drew the highest average number of guests per stall. The Hot Dogs stall at the top of this food court drew the highest number of guests of all the food & drink stalls. |
South Walk |
Now we’re ready to move along, we find if we walk past Rip Tide that the South Mini Food Court, Water Tricycles, and Windsurfer are here along the South Walk. |
Water Tricycles and Windsurfer consistently lost us money but we’ve added them because they’re enjoyed by the guests and aesthetically they benefit the park. |
East Walk/Food Court East |
In the eastward direction that we’ve taken, balloon flight marks the end of South Walk. If we take a left turn here we’ll next discover ourselves walking through Food Court, East. |
While Food Court, West can be said to be hugging the hillside Food Court, East can be more accurately described as being stretched out over the harbor. Even if the guests aren’t hungry the picnic tables lined up at one side are an invitation to sit and take in the sights. Out of all the drinks stalls in the park the Lemonade stall at the top of this food court has attracted the most guests and earned the highest profit. |
At the north end of Food Court, East, is its intersection with East Walk, North, and the park’s East Side. The East Side starts right there where we’ll make the right turn at Double Carousel. Being as we’re at this end of the park now let’s look over the East Side and see what’s out here. |
East Side |
This area of the park is orientated towards families; it’s been designed to be a good place for parents to linger with the little ones. Most of our junior rides are here and the East Mini Food Court makes a delightful stop for refreshment and relaxation, and perhaps for noticing the fish and waterfowl. |
Situated in our East Side are Double Carousel, Hillside Slide, Rainbow Teacups ride, Sports Cars, Balloon Ride, and Bumper Boats. Double Carousel is the second highest earner in our park in addition to drawing the highest number of guests. |
Although we had high hopes for Balloon Ride it attracted a moderate level of ticket sales and does show excellent levels of popularity & satisfaction. We weren’t expecting great things from Rainbow Teacups but just like Balloon Ride it did show excellent levels of popularity and satisfaction while attracting a moderate level of ticket sales. |
When we bought this property it was an abandoned 1970’s children’s summer camp surrounded by otherwise undeveloped woodland. While we are walking about the park, from time to time a few of our park visitors will come up to us and tell us of the fond memories they had spending the summer at this location in years gone by. |
Being out here in the East Side really makes me appreciate the trouble we took to remove as few trees as possible from the property during its development. Some of the park guests who knew this property when it was a summer camp have told us that seeing some of the trees still around made them feel as if they were visiting old friends. Of course, while we were building we’ve added a few specimen plantings of our own! |
Built on a suspended track, with Sports Cars partially built out over the lake this ride gives a good excitement rating with a medium intensity level. Sports Cars also records a high satisfaction rate and there’s nearly always a queue. |
We have yet to see any of the upper levels of the park so let’s stroll across the East Walk, North, towards the Main Staircase. At our right are Sky Sling, Phoenix Twister, and Golden Odyssey. |
They don’t make our parks a great deal of money but this trio of Old Reliables do have good levels of popularity with excellent satisfaction rates. |
Main Staircase |
While standard paths can get us from east to west & from north to south, in addition to our lifts our Main Staircase is useful for getting park guests to the different levels of our park. |
With this staircase being core of the park there are two Information stations at the top of the stairway and two near the bottom. An A.T.M. and our Souvenirs stall are located centrally on this stair. If we were to walk up this stair we’d observe Drinks Island about halfway up off to one side of The Promenade which is covered every spring and fall with a luxuriant growth of yellow bougainvilleas. |
For now we’ll do what most guests do and take one of the lifts up. |
